The BTFD Wildland Strike Team is a team of firefighters who have obtained specialized training in fighting this type of fire. The team responds to local fires and is also prepared to be called upon to fight larger scale forest fires in the southeast region.

The team continues to train on these specialized skills to keep a constant rediness state. Firefighters wishing to be a part of the team are required to go through yearly testing as to be sure they are keeping themselves up to standards physically as well as knowing the skills needed to perform.
