Tell us what made you want to become a firefighter: Growing up I always wanted to do something to give back to my country and wanted to help others.  After high school I was either going to take over my dads plumbing business and/or join the U.S. Coast Guard.  I was talking to the U.S. Coast Guard about joining when an opportunity to volunteer at our local fire house came up from a friend who was a part of the firehouse himself. He convinced me to do a ride along with the engine crew and I was hooked from that moment on.  

What is your current role/rank at BTFD? Driver Operator

What is your most memorable moment a firefighter? Wow there are so many!!! The first one was becoming a career Firefighter.  The second one was on shift one on Engine 323 (moss creek station) a few years ago our crew had a house fire down Saw Mill Creek Rroad.  The house fire was right before Christmas and the family wasn't home but we ended up saving the house except the kitchen that was on fire. We also saved the house hold dog which was laying in the master bedroom bathroom barely breathing. After bringing the dog outside and with the help of Beaufort country EMS and Bluffton Fire District giving the dog some oxygen and taking it to the vet, the dog was alive and well.  Seeing the family faces expressed with happiness and joy that there dog which we all know become apart of the family had been saved.  We do this for the public and anything that we can do to make a positive difference is a big bonus.

What is one of your biggest achievements as a firefighter? Having a career in fire fighting is the best job in the world and a huge achievement in my life.

If you were not a firefighter, what would you be? I guess wishing every day was Halloween so I could dress up like a firefighter everyday! haha Seriously I have no idea! I guess running my dads plumbing business and or in the United States Coast Guard.
