Tell us what made you want to become a firefighter I was a Medic in the Army and enjoyed being able to help others when needed. After getting out of the military I went to college but couldn't decide on a field of study. I tested for BTFD with my brother-in-law and started volunteering. I was hired in October of 2003 and have loved it ever since.
What is your most memorable moment as a firefighter? Showing up to a soccer game in Truck 375 and all the kids stopped playing. They were so excited to see the big red truck… There aren't many professions that have that effect on people!
What is one of your biggest achievements as a firefighter? Most recently, passing the Paramedic National Registry test.
If you were not a firefighter, what would you be? I have no clue…
What is your current role at BTFD? Floating Officer for Shift 2, Paramedic, a member of RRT-4, and chairman of the Hiring Board.
What do you like to do when you are not at the fire station? Swim and play with the kids, spend time with the family, work around the house, MacGyver things up.
Anything else you would like to add? I'm very lucky to have an extremely supportive family including my wife, my parents, and in-laws in the area. |
